There is no question as to whether or not we love cars. Clearly cars are very important to us, and we like to share it with the world. Another thing that is very near and dear to us is taking care of the earth where we live. So we like the idea of recycling and reusing anything that can be recycled or reused to be sure that we are doing our part. Living a green life is not only good for our environment here on this planet, but it is also healthier for your body too. Who does not want to be healthier overall, right?

Did you know that recycling cars is a very common practice and it can help to keep us from using up resources and causing more harm to the earth. There are so many things that just one car can save it is unreal. Some of the things that can be saved are:

Energy
Air pollution reduction
Water use reduction
Mining waste reduction

Recycling, or scraping, old cars also helps to contribute to the economy. So if you have a pile of old junk cars that you are not sure about what to do with, consider recycling them to help out.

Green cars have everyone talking this year as America looks towards a future with less dependency on foreign (or any) oil, and the world awaits the first modern car that has the perfect combination of efficiency, style, and affordability. Once, that took a lot of looking into the future, but now, the future has arrived. The first realistic cars that might actually make good on their designer’s promises to deliver sensible cars that eliminate carbon emissions and run on cleaner fuel are already among us — and there’s more to them than meets the eye. One of the most interesting options of green car out there is the smart car. This two door coupe gets high miles per gallon and is designed to get the clutter off of the roads. Each smart car has standard features that will impress any car buyer. For example the transmission is the 5-speed smartshift that has two modes, automatic and manual. What makes this little car so intriguing and exciting? I love it for it’s small design with big space. I don’t feel like I am crammed into a tiny ride. Of course, I am also loving the environmental aspect of the car too. I can run to the store for the essential eggs, K2 basic incense, and milk and not feel like I am emitting a ton of waste. Let’s look into the smart car and see why their motto “unboring” is completely accurate.

High MPG – The three coupe options (pure coupe, passion coupe, and passion cabriolet) all get about 33 mpg in the city and 41 highway miles. The electric drive smart car gets you 87 highway mpg. Sounds like a winner, right?
Safety – The car may be small, but safety is the first priority with the tridion safety cell that has been designed into the car. This cell absorbs impact and helps keep passengers safe, just in case. Not only does the cell provide ultimate safety, but smart cars are designed and built by Mercedes-Benz, so the standards of safety smart lives up to are some of the toughest in the industry.

Eco-Friendly – The body panels of the smart are not the only thing that is kind to the earth. The smart has no backseat whatsoever to eliminate the empty seats that exists everyday on commutes to and from work. Another bonus is that 85% of a smart is completely recyclable, so most of the car can be re-used. The size of the car is a huge green boost because small means less. The car’s size means you will use less fuel and have less emissions.

Nissan Leaf Race Car

Nissan is at the green car movement’s forefront, already selling a full EV model. The Leaf, which retails at an astounding £30,990, is a worthy car despite its general lack of sex appeal. It has a range of 110 miles per charge and offers decent acceleration. Speed tops out at 90mph. Most consumers who are in the market for a new vehicle will probably not go in for it, as the idea of a battery powered car hasn’t quite sunk into the mass consciousness yet.

Naturally, Nissan is desperate to get Leafs into the garages of more people. One of its efforts to drive down the price of is EV model is the creation of a wild looking race car — a version of the Leaf reimagined.

Electric cars are some of the most desirable items in an effort to make the world a greener place, but finding one can be daunting. Most of the makers of those cars have waiting lists, and produce only a limited number of models per year. Finding charging stations between stops on long trips can be equally daunting. At the moment, the idea of electric cars is wildly popular, but the practicality is dubious. Not enough people are on board, so to speak. Fewer than 15,000 completely electric cars are currently on U.S. roads, according to Plug In America, a group promoting the technology as a sensible alternative to gasoline.

Probably a lot more people would be driving electric cars, if they just knew where to find them and understood more about how they are recharged and powered. Moreover, many people have the mistaken idea that the electric cars are concept-only, and cannot be owned yet. Here is an infographic that will clarify that misconception. Small and Green Cars

There was a time when nearly all of the environmentally friendly cars on the market caused us to think back to the first Model T produced by Ford, in that you could have any green car you wanted — but it had to be a Toyota Prius. Now, there is a much wider range of vehicles to choose from than there was back then. The Prius is still considered the gold standard for realistic green cars that people can actually afford, but now there is also a newer version of the Honda Insight that is definitely worth another look.

In today’s market there are more hybrids than ever before, and also more high-efficiency gasoline-powered vehicles on the road. But we have to be realistic at some point, and understand that there is no way to continue to be so dependent on gasoline. It is not a sustainable lifestyle. Rather, we would like to see more investment in the R&D of cars that are powered in unique, gasoline free ways. Electric powered cars continue to make strides, and have captured the imagination of scientists and designers alike. It is entirely possible that at some point in the future, when alternative forms of energy are used to power our grids, it might actually be feasible for people to power up 100% electric cars.
